Hello everyone! It has been way too long since the last entry and I apologize for that. To be honest, I thought the summer would be kind of slow and relaxing, but I was wrong. It has been a crazy couple of months for Tonilee, me and our ministry team at Daily Disciples. So, here is my attempt to catch everyone up on the recent and upcoming events. As always, we very much covet your prayers. By the way, it is extremely vital to us that the heart of this ministry stay focused on Jesus Christ. Yes, we are busy but we know that we had better stay on our knees and faces to keep the faith, to follow where He leads and to daily take up our cross. Everything that is happening only matters if it makes a difference for the kingdom of God, if it is grounded in LOVE, walked out in faith, and willing to give it all back.
We have become involved with two amazing organizations and are humbled to be on the start up teams of both. Women in Christian Media (www.womeninchristianmedia.org) has come to San Diego. Tonilee and I attended the national meeting in March and were inspired by the women who make up this group. They are critically influential in the media world, especially in the times we are living as Christians. We discovered while there they were hoping to launch their West Coast Connection this year. We met Marcia Ramsland, the one with the task of setting this connection up, and offered our help in any way needed. Since then, we have become a part of a wonderful team of women here in San Diego, all with a heart to keep the message of the gospel in our media outlets. Our first event is October 9, 2008 and we are more than blessed to have Kay Arthur speak at this dinner. She is simply amazing and I know her message from God's Word will pierce our hearts. The next project on the table is a groundbreaking adventure in the world of webcasting and Internet TV. We met Michele Washam and Wendy Wood from Christian Conference Online in March as well and began a relationship that would hugely impact how we continue to get the message of the gospel out to the world. Michele is an incredible woman with an awesome story. Visit www.just4ladies.com for more information on Michele. She is a gifted and talented website designer, artist, writer, speaker...visionary. To make a long story short, somehow, some way about a couple of months ago, the three of us had a conversation about a 24/7 full access web TV/Internet station. We agreed to the concept, the vision, and the need. We are now in the development stages of this very concept and vision. It is called Woman of Faith.tv. It is "woman" because the computer allows for the individual woman to take part in something that she may never could before. Large groups of women attend large events but for the one woman out there, she can join in now...wherever she may be and it not cost a thing. The soft launch is set for October and the website still under construction is www.womanoffaith.tv/. We are already working with some of the finest Christian women out there and have others of interest. Please keep this project in your prayers. The enemy does not want this to get off the ground.
In other events, we are excited to announce two Bible studies this September that will run through the fall season. We have a new study in the book of Romans that is...well, Romans is a life-changing book. What can I say to describe it? It will bring light to darkness, freedom to areas of bondage, and will absolutely convince you of Who Jesus is and what He did for you personally. It is offered in the San Diego area in two locations. Do not miss it if you live in San Diego. The second study is on Spiritual Warfare, which we have taught a few times, and the interest in this topic is overwhelming. It is being offered via webcast, which means anyone anywhere can participate. For both studies, go to www.dailydisciples.org to register.
One more thing, we just finished two days in the studio recording videos of both Malachi and Esther bible studies. Wow, was that some hard work! Then, we recorded some television commercials and a potential pilot/program. We will see what happens and what God wants to do with them. We are so not into entertaining but into the Word of God that I am not always sure if people really want to hear the only message that matters. I guess the truth is...most people do not. At any rate, we will keep speaking it, teaching it and praying for those who need to hear it.
On a personal note, Tonilee and I and our families are all well. Thanks again for your prayers and your support. We hope to see you soon...maybe this fall!
